Dive Bar, Crowne Plaza Melbourne
Commissioned for the Dive Bar at Crowne Plaza Melbourne, we collaborated with the design teams at Ornoco and AKDesignNetwork to create a focal point for a space defined by neon energy and social vibrancy. The brief required a piece that could withstand a high-traffic hospitality environment while delivering a theatrical visual impact.
We engineered the Biscayne model for this project, utilizing our patented floating base technology. Constructed from high-clarity cast Lucite, the chassis features integrated RGB LED lighting within the legs and rails. This internal illumination allows the table to change character instantly, diffusing light through the acrylic structure and creating the illusion that the playing surface is levitating.
The fabrication demanded an exacting level of color precision. To align with the designers' textile scheme, we executed a bespoke dye formulation for the billiard cloth (Color P57-4U), perfectly matching the room's Kvadrat Maharam upholstery. Despite the complexities of manufacturing and shipping to Australia during global pandemic restrictions, we successfully managed the logistics to deliver a seamless installation on the other side of the world.
