Working within a penthouse overlooking Central Park West, Pooltableportfolio collaborated with Reitveld Architects to create a gaming centerpiece that embraced the home's ethos of transparency. The client required a design that would blend seamlessly with the sleek, modern aesthetic of the space while preserving the open sightlines of the apartment.
We constructed the table using a painted steel framework, meticulously color-matched to the penthouse's existing architectural railings to ensure the piece felt like an extension of the building itself. The core innovation is the patented tempered glass playing surface, which offers a completely transparent aesthetic without compromising ball physics.
The installation demanded rigorous logistical planning. With the monolithic glass surface too large for the building's elevators, our specialist team manually navigated the delicate components up to the penthouse level. To maximize utility for the family, we integrated a custom ping-pong conversion top and a controllable multicolor LED system, allowing the tableβs character to shift from a minimalist sculpture by day to a vibrant entertainment hub by night.
