Commissioned for the resident lounge at The Mark, a major mixed-use development in Downtown Sarasota, we worked alongside the interior design team at The Decorators Unlimited. The brief called for a communal centerpiece that balanced the scale of the 800,000 square-foot development with the intimacy required for a private lounge.
We engineered the 'Satine' model for this space, a design characterized by its suspended, hull-like geometry. Unlike standard box-construction tables, this piece features a curvilinear undercarriage that minimizes visual mass. We fabricated the chassis in Ash, applying a finish selected to dialogue with the existing interior joinery.
The focus on monochromatic texture was paramount. We meticulously matched the worsted wool playing surface to the deepest grain tones of the Ash wood. This tonal alignment transforms the table from a piece of sports equipment into a unified sculptural element, anchoring the sophisticated ambiance of the lounge.
